Product Description
Magnum's legendary singer, Bob Catley's first solo album and a masterpiece of the century, is being re-released in a new paper sleeve! (1998 release) MAGNUM, a leading British HR/HM band, has been active at the forefront of the scene for over 50 years since its formation in 1972, and has been greatly influential and respected. Sadly, the band came to an end in 2024 with the passing of its founder, Tony Clarkin (guitar). The acclaimed first album "The Tower," released in 1998 by their original singer Bob Catley, is finally being reissued in a newly revised edition with new artwork and bonus tracks! The new artwork is by the legendary Rodney Matthews, familiar from MAGNUM's entire catalog! Three bonus tracks from a live performance held around the same time are included! Furthermore, the Japanese edition comes in a paper sleeve! The release of Bob Catley's first solo album coincided with Tony's announcement of Magnum's dissolution in 1995, coinciding with the formation of a new band, Hardrain, with Bob. This led to collaborations with Gary Hughes (vocals/TEN) and others, and the start of work on Bob's own solo album. Bob chose Gary Hughes as his producer and songwriting partner, and completed his solo debut album, "The Tower." In addition to Gary (keyboards & bass), the album featured former Dare guitarist Vinnie Burns on guitar and Greg Morgan on drums, with all the members of TEN participating at the time. The album showcased melancholic, melodic hard rock, and was infused with an Irish flavor throughout. The album, released in November, was a huge success in Europe and Japan. After that, Bob collaborated with Gary on two more albums, 'Legends' (1999) and 'Middle Earth' (2001). Furthermore, even after Magnum's reunion in 2001, he fully participated in Tobias Sammet's Avantasia (of Edguy), remaining at the forefront of the music scene to this day. Comes in a gatefold paper jacket! Includes lyrics and translations, and a Bob Catley interview! Tracklist 1. Dreams 6:46 2. Scream 7:35 3. Far Away 6:03 4. Deep Winter 5:27 5. Fire And Ice 5:36 6.
