NWOBHM heavyweights Saxon release their 24th album in two years, following their previous work which became an anthem for metal fans! Saxon, a heavyweight of the N.W.O.B.H.M. boasting a 45-year history since their formation in 1978, has quickly released their 24th album in two years, following their highly acclaimed previous album, "Carpe Diem." This album, centered around band frontman Biff Byford (vocals), is a condensed version of the ultimate Saxon sound, further developing the aggressive and dramatic style of their previous work! As with the previous album, production was handled by Andy Sneap (JUDAS PRIEST, etc.) alongside Biff. The biggest difference in this album is that Paul Quinn (guitar), who had supported Saxon for many years alongside Biff as an original member since the previous album, has announced his retirement from touring, and has been replaced by Brian Tatler (guitar) of Diamond Head, a fellow musician who lived through the same era. Brian also participated in the songwriting for the album, bringing an aggressive blood to the band! The other members are the ever-reliable Nigel Glockler (drums), Nibs Carter (bass), and Doug Scarlatt (guitar). The album's title track, which features Brian and has a music video, is a dramatic metal number filled with Biff's passionate thoughts on the battle between good and evil, but in reality, the title "Hell, Fire and Damnation" comes from Biff's father's old catchphrase, which was a regular thing for him when Biff misbehaved as a child, with his father yelling, "What are you doing?! Go to hell, burn at the stake, and be destroyed!" SAXON, who have already started a massive world tour, are scheduled to embark on a three-way tour with JUDAS PRIEST and URIAH HEEP from March 2024 until June! Armed with a bang with their new album, the kings continue their energetic activities in an attempt to conquer the world!
