Snail Mail was formed in 2015 by vocalist/guitarist Lindsey Jordan. Lindsey gained attention with an EP released when she was 16, and with their 2018 debut album "Lush," they quickly grew into stars carrying the US indie scene. In 2021, they released their long-awaited latest album, "Valentine." Led by the title track, the album opener and anthem "Valentine," which confirms its masterpiece status, the album showcases her true potential after overcoming life's challenges, earning an 8.5 rating from Pitchfork as Best New Music. Her work has been highly praised not only by overseas media but also in Japan, where it has garnered significant attention. To commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the release of "Valentine," she releases "Valentine Demo" through Matador. Without further ado, let me introduce some demo versions of songs that were essential to the creation of 'Valentine'. A little over three years ago, I was holed up at my parents' house in Maryland, and all I had there was a Minirogue synth, an audio interface, a microphone, and a guitar. Using those, I started writing my second full-length album. I like some of the demos more than the ones that made it onto the actual album.
