Spoon, a band that has been at the forefront of US guitar rock for over 20 years, has released a dub version of their 10th album, "Lucifer on the Sofa," completely reconstructed by UK dub legend and On-U Sound's head, Adrian Sherwood, titled "Lucifer on the Moon"! This project, realized through a passionate offer from frontman Britt Daniel, reconstructed the work using only tape, with the condition that any additional instruments be added and that it should have a classic rather than modern feel. Initially, the work was planned on a single-by-single basis, but with the addition of bassist Doug Wimbish, who also played in Tuckhead in the in-house rhythm section of Sugarhill Records in the early 80s, drummer Keith LeBlanc, and session players from On-U Sound, a large amount of instrumental performance was added, resulting in the development of a complete album rework. This album marks the band's first-ever complete dub-style reinterpretation of a rock band's album, and Adrian Sherwood's first since Primal Scream's "Echo Dek." It's more than just a re-imagining; it's a fusion of the two artists' dedication to sonic artistry!
