This album follows her masterpiece album "sentiment" (2024), which traversed ambient/drone and experimental music with indie/emo rock. This work is the finale of a trilogy that began with "a heavenly touch" (Already Dead Tapes) in 2020 and "a softer focus" (American Dreams Records) in 2021, and represents a return to what she considers to be the essence of her solo work. On March 21st, he released "no floor" (THRILL-JP 61 / HEADZ 267), a collaboration album with more eaze, with whom he has collaborated on various projects over the years. There are no so-called pop vocal tracks, and the album is characterized by the use of everyday sounds recorded outside the studio (a consistent theme in her work), which she considers to be the essence of her solo work (a return to her roots). While field recordings were the primary sound source and central element of composition in "a heavenly touch" and "a softer focus," in "a little death," they are organically blended with live instruments such as strings, woodwinds, piano, lap steel (by guests), and Claire's own acoustic guitar. Ahead of the album's release, the first single, "just (feat. m sage)," was digitally released on August 19th (Tuesday). As the title suggests, this song features Matthew Sage, also known as M Sage, who participated as a remixer on "sentiment remix" (a remix album of "sentiment") and just released his new album "Tender / Wading" on September 26th (Friday) from RVNG Intl./PLANCHA, his first new album in two years, playing clarinet, electronics, and piano. The album features M Sage, and following on from 'no floor', more eaze plays violin under her real name, mari maurice, Gretchen Korsmo plays clarinet, following on from 'quilted lament', Andrew Weathers, who also handled the mastering of this album, plays lap steel guitar, and Alex Cunningham, who has participated in Claire's past works including 'a softer focus' and live performances, plays violin.
