Synopsis: Experimental artist Lucrecia Dalt, originally from Colombia and based in Berlin, Germany, has completed her new album, "?Ay!". Her innate, intuitive sound, honed in Colombia, is expressed in her new album, "?Ay!". Traditional instrumentation meets adventurous impulses and sci-fi-esque timeless meditation, resulting in a breathtaking masterpiece that transcends boundaries and delivers a joyful experience! Lucrecia Dalt's introspective approach to composition first surfaced in her captivating 2020 album, "No era s?lida," and in "?Ay!", she refracts the unconscious spectrum of musical genres she absorbed as a child. Bolero, mambo, salsa, merengue?precious sounds and syncopations that colored her childhood?are awakened in this work, illuminating the album's contours. The intuitive melodic structure of this music is built on memory and modular synths, leading to a mirage that is the origin of her creativity, and finally to the album she has always wanted to make. Like his previous work, "No era s?lida," and his 2018 album "Anticlines," "? Ay!" is a tincture of rich sonic textures, diffused by Dalt's signature mechanical distortion warmth, blurring easily defined edges. Upright bass, a brass ensemble, and magically vibrant brass form the shimmer of distilled harmonic motifs across radial rhythms. Working closely with his friend and collaborator Alex L?zaro, Lucrecia explored new forms and colors of slowed-down tumbao and bolero percussion patterns.
