A 14-member instrumental rock orchestra with a combination of speed and exhilaration! Released on December 25th, 2019, Christmas Day!! Four years after their debut album "Planet Shhh!", which sold out its initial pressing CD in just 10 days. Two years after their second album "Home," which received rave reviews from renowned music media such as The Guardian, The Skinny, and Prog Magazine. Human Pyramids, the 14-member instrumental rock orchestra led by Scottish multi-instrumentalist Paul Russell, releases their highly anticipated third album "Power Pose" on Christmas morning! They shared the main stage of the Glastonbury Festival with famous artists such as Underworld, James Blake, and Earth, Wind and Fire. The band members participated in the recording of Radiohead's classic single "Burn The Witch." Their music video for "Crackle Pop," a track from their second album "Home," was nominated for the Raindance Film Festival and the UK Music Video Awards. This album, created with incredible momentum, is arguably Human Pyramids' finest work to date. It features a magnificent orchestral sound with lavish use of string instruments like violins and cellos, and wind instruments like trumpets and French horns. The overwhelming groove is driven by lightly strummed guitars and powerful drums. And, of course, there are the catchy melodies by leader/composer Paul Russell, who is also active in the world of music production for films and commercials. The sound created by the combination of all these elements is miraculously fantastic! In addition, this album was mixed at "Chem 19," the same studio as Glasgow (UK) artists MOGWAI and Arab Strap, and mastered in Jersey City (USA) by Grammy Award-nominated engineer Joe Lambert, who has worked with Dirty Projectors and Animal Collective. We are confident that this album boasts the highest sound quality. This is a masterpiece that combines a sense of speed and exhilaration, and is sure to bring tears to your eyes, and is highly recommended for fans of J?nsi (vocalist of Sigur R?s), The Flaming Lips, and The Cinematic Orchestra.
