Content Introduction: My Dying Bride, the British band that, along with Paradise Lost and Anathema, created the new genre of Gothic/Doom Metal, has released their first new album in four years! Featuring a wealth of violins and synthesizers, their gloomy worldview is truly unique! My Dying Bride, the British band that pioneered the new genre of Gothic/Doom Metal in the early 90s along with Paradise Lost and Anathema, was formed in 1990. Initially, they championed their own style of "death metal that's slower than usual." After producing several demos, they signed with Peaceville Records, the same label as Paradise Lost at the time. In 1992, they made their album debut with "As the Flower Withers." 6 tracks, 44 minutes. Although the vocals were death metal, the entire work is filled with beautiful melodies, and the album remains aesthetically pleasing, just as the title "As the Flower Withers" suggests. The inclusion of their trademark violin was also striking. My Dying Bride, who further intensified their gothic sound afterward, spawned many followers. After releasing numerous masterpieces on Peaceville, they moved to the major German label Nuclear Blast Records with their 2020 album "The Ghost of Orion." Now, their first new album in four years is being released. Titled "A Mortal Binding," this album explodes with the usual My Dying Bride world. Heavy, doomy, and melancholic. A series of lengthy tracks, all over six minutes long, are lined up. The effectively used violin and synthesizers only amplify the gloomy atmosphere. This is the epitome of the dark side of Britain.
