Content Introduction Cirith Ungol, one of the pioneers of doom metal, has released a new album. Their relentlessly heavy and epic songs, and their intensely high-pitched vocals are truly unique. The bassist is Jarvis Lezaby of Night Demon. Cirith Ungol, from California, is considered one of the pioneers of doom metal. Their formation dates back to 1971. They debuted with 'Frost and Fire' in 1981. The fact that Celtic Frost took their band name from this album title alone shows the importance of this work. Their second album, 'King of the Dead', released in 1984, is still revered by many fans as a doom metal classic. After releasing two more albums, 'One Foot in Hell' (1986) and 'Paradise Lost' (1991), the band disbanded in 1992. Ironically, just as they ceased activity, Lee Dorrian's Cathedral sparked a doom metal boom. As a result, Cirith Ungol gained cult status as the father of doom metal. They also reunited in 2015, and in 2020 released their first new album in 29 years, "Forever Black," which surprised fans worldwide with its unmistakable Cirith Ungol sound from the 80s. And now, their new album "Dark Parade" is being released after a three-year hiatus. Naturally, there's no way Cirith Ungol could have changed. Once again, they deliver relentlessly heavy and epic doom metal. Tim Baker's uniquely distinctive vocals are as strong as ever. Jarvis Lezaby of Night Demon is on bass, continuing from their previous album.
