All-female bands have been making remarkable strides in recent years, and Crypta is one of them. Originally formed by former members of Nervosa and Burning Witches, the band made their album debut in 2021 with "Echoes of the Soul." Unlike their previous bands, they delivered a thoroughly gritty, old-school death metal sound that stunned fans worldwide. Now, they are releasing their long-awaited new album. Titled "Shades of Sorrow," this album sees the addition of Brazilian guitarist Jessica Falch, replacing former Burning Witches member Sonia who left the band. Crypta's lineup is entirely Brazilian (Sonia is Dutch). This semi-concept album, themed around "the struggle with pain that one must sometimes experience in life," explodes with eerie, dark, and emotional death metal. The authentic old-school sound, which is hard to believe is coming from such young members, may be due to their Brazilian heritage. They are already very popular in Europe.
