Immortal, one of Norway's leading black metal bands, was formed in 1991, centered around Abbas (B, Vo) and Demonas (G). In the Norwegian black metal scene of the time, where murder and arson were rampant, Immortal, with its somewhat humorous atmosphere, was a unique presence. They made their album debut in 1992 with "Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism". After that, they consistently released albums. In particular, "At the Heart of Winter" from 1999 is a famous work that remains in the history of black metal. However, Immortal, which seemed to be sailing smoothly, suddenly announced its disbandment in 2003. They surprised their fans. They eventually reunited four years later in 2007 and released a new album, "All Shall Fall," in 2009. However, a legal dispute erupted among the members over the "Immortal" trademark, and Abbas, who could be considered the face of the band, left. Nevertheless, Demonas and Horg (Dr) decided to continue the band. In 2018, the two of them produced "Northern Chaos Gods," demonstrating that Immortal was still going strong even without Abbas. Now, Immortal is releasing a new album after a five-year hiatus. Titled "War Against All," the album's credits reveal that even Horg is gone, and it seems to have finally become Demonas's solo project. But there's no need to worry.
