Content Introduction Finland's proud gothic rock band, The 69 Eyes, also known as the Helsinki Vampires, have released a new album! Once again, they unfold a dark and romantic world inspired by Sisters of Mercy and Misfits. The 69 Eyes, also known as the Helsinki Vampires, are a gothic rock band that Finland is proud of. Formed around 1989-90, they played sleazy glam/punk at the time. Eventually, they absorbed the dark elements of artists such as Misfits, Elvis Presley, and Sisters of Mercy, establishing their own unique gothic rock and roll style. In 1992, they made their album debut with "Bump'n'Grind." Since then, they have consistently released albums and gained great popularity, mainly in Europe. In 1999, they signed with major label Roadrunner Records. The 69 Eyes, especially popular in their native Finland where they are a regular at No. 1 on the national charts, have signed with Atomic Fire Records and are releasing their 13th album, "Death of Darkness." This new album, their first in four years since "West End," which reached No. 2 on the Finnish national charts, is also filled with romantic yet incredibly dark gothic rock. Jyrky 69's deep, dark vocals, arguably the band's greatest asset, are even darker and sexier than before. Fans of The 69 Eyes will not be disappointed. This album is also recommended for beginners who are interested in gothic rock.
