Content Introduction: Heart Attack, the French secret weapon discovered by Nuclear Blast Records founder Markus Steiger, presents their 2017 second album, making its debut in Japan. While based on thrash metal, the album shines with originality typical of a French band, including the use of a Mellotron! Heart Attack is a French metal band. They have been active since around 2010, but honestly, not many people have heard of them. The person who discovered them is Markus Steiger, the founder of Nuclear Blast Records and currently the owner of Atomic Fire Records. Having found a hidden gem in France, he immediately decided to sign Heart Attack. Their third album, "Negative Sun," was released by Atomic Fire. But that's not all. Two of their early masterpieces, which have not been well known outside of France until now, are also being reissued. This is their second album, "The Resilience," released in 2017. In stark contrast to their debut album, which showcased raw, impulsive thrash metal, this album, inspired by the Nice terrorist attacks, shows significant progress in every aspect: songwriting, production, and performance. Not only are the song structures more complex, but progressive elements shine through, such as the incorporation of Genesis-esque Mellotron sounds. France is home to many unique bands, led by Alceste and Gojira. "The Resilience" is an important album that shows the beginnings of the kind of individuality typical of French bands that would culminate in their latest work, "Negative Sun." Having joined Atomic Fire, we are sure to hear Heart Attack's name much more often in the future. They are truly France's secret weapon.
