The sleeping giant awakens. As the bassist of Megadeth, one of the "Big Four of Thrash Metal," Dave Ellefson supported the band during its heyday. While playing on classic albums such as "Rust in Peace" (1990), "Countdown to Doom" (1992), and "Youth Anasia" (1994), he is also active in other projects such as F5 and Metal Allegiance. "Sleeping Giants" is the first album he releases under his own name, "Ellefson." Fellow musicians who resonated with Dave's new journey participate as guests, and their shared resonance creates an explosive chemical reaction. Collaborations with Chris Poland (formerly of Megadeth), Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (formerly of Guns N' Roses / Sons of Apollo), John Bush (formerly of Anthrax, Armored Saint), Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge / Creed), David Glenn Eisley (formerly of Geoffria / House of Roses / husband of Olivia Hussey), Steve Conley (Flotsam & Jetsam), DMC (RUN DMC), and others go beyond a simple all-star album, becoming a battle of talent where sparks fly between these masters. This album is divided into two parts: new recordings by Dave and his business partner Tom Hazard, and a collection of previously unreleased tracks from his own band, F5. The album features tracks that are sure to become Dave's new killer tune, "Vultures," and the exciting "Hammer (Comes Down)," featuring Chris Poland and Mark Tremonti and boasting a sound directly influenced by Megadeth. The album is packed with deadly metal riffs and melodic hooks in the style of Megadeth. The Japanese CD version includes "Like Father Like Son," "Home," and "After All (Said and Done)," which were only available as download/streaming versions overseas. Currently, Japan is the only country where the complete physical version is available. His "home base," Megadeth, was forced to suspend activities due to Dave Mustaine's throat cancer, but a tour and a new album are planned for 2020. The giant that finally awakens at the same time as the band's full-fledged comeback is "Sleeping Giants."
