Content Introduction: Known as the drummer for Silver Mountain, Yngwie Malmsteen, HammerFall, and others, renowned drummer Anders Johansson has formed a new band with his two sons! Their powerful and melodic music, incorporating elements of industrial and folk music, is truly exciting, and their unified playing style is a testament to their father-son collaboration! Anders Johansson (drums) debuted in 1984 as a member of the Swedish heavy metal band Silver Mountain. Later, along with his younger brother, keyboardist Jens Johansson, he was recruited by Yngwie Malmsteen, participating in three studio albums, including the 1985 album "Marching Out," and tours, which brought him widespread recognition. After leaving Yngwie Malmsteen's band, Anders participated in numerous recordings, including with the Johansson Brothers (which he formed with Jens) and Johansson, as well as with Billionaires Boys Club and Snake Charmer. In 1999, he joined HammerFall, a popular Swedish melodic metal band. After energetically working on album production and world tours, he left the band in 2014 and has been doing session work since 2019, playing with the New York power metal band Manowar. One day in 2016, while leading such a busy life, Anders heard songs written by his two sons, Nick (guitar) and Karl (bass/keyboards/scream), and liked the modern metal tunes that he had never thought of himself, so he decided to form a band with his sons. With former Cloudscape vocalist Mike Anderson (vocals) as the singer, they experimentally released the album "VANTABLACK" (2017) as a digital-only release under the band name STROKKUR. Now, having changed their name to Tungsten, they have made their full-fledged debut with this album, "We Will Lies." Their powerful music, centered around industrial-style digital beats, is heavy yet melodic, and many tracks incorporate melodies reminiscent of Nordic folk music. While the straightforward beats and serious mood are reminiscent of Rammstein, some songs with lyrical vocal melodies have an atmosphere similar to Sabaton. The powerful performance, a testament to the unity between the Anders father and son, perfectly matches Michael's expressive vocals, resulting in a work that brilliantly blends Nordic tradition with modern elements.
