The Wretched End is a new band formed by Samos after the breakup of Emperor and Zyklon. This is their second album and their Japanese debut!! Emperor is a charismatic black metal band characterized by its thorough visual concept that pushes Satanism to the extreme and dramatic symphonic sound based on extreme blast beats. The band was formed in '91 and originated from the infamous Norwegian Satanic cult, the Inner Circle. After completing their debut album in '94, three members were arrested for crimes including assault, theft, murder, and arson, and the band's survival was in jeopardy. However, the only remaining member, Ihsahn, rebuilt the band, dismissed the two who had received prison sentences, added new members, and waited for Samos's release from prison, where he had a relatively lighter sentence, before releasing their second album in '97. After that, they continued to be active steadily despite member changes, releasing their third album in '99, and then in '01 they announced the band's disbandment and released their final full-length album. In 2000, before Emperor disbanded, Samos formed Zyklon with Talim of Emperor. Following Emperor's disbandment in 2001, he focused on Zyklon's activities, releasing three albums, but Zyklon also disbanded in 2010. The band Samos formed after that is The Letchit End.
