Product Description
Jazz Sabbath operates under the premise of being a jazz band that played in late 1960s Britain, centered around a British jazz pianist who believes Black Sabbath stole his songs. This best-of album, featuring a selection of their best tracks from their 2020 debut to the present, is now available in UHQCD Japanese specifications! The band is centered around Adam Wakeman, son of progressive rock's top keyboardist Rick Wakeman, who has been active in Ozzy Osbourne's band and as a tour support musician for Black Sabbath, and is also comprised of bassist Jerry Meehan (Robbie Williams, Omar, etc.) and drummer Ash Thorne (Adele, Seal, Squeeze, etc.). One night, while playing piano in a hotel bar, Wakeman came up with the idea to create a jazz cover album of Black Sabbath songs. It quickly evolved into a comedy documentary about Black Sabbath stealing their early songs from a fictional jazz pianist named Milton Keynes, who was active in the '60s. He kept the idea a secret for a while, but eventually got permission from Sharon Osborne and the other band members. This special edition includes 11 tracks in total, featuring jazzy arrangements of Black Sabbath's early classics such as "Black Sabbath," "Iron Man," and "Children of the Grave" from three studio albums by Jazz Sabbath: "Jazz Sabbath vol.1," "Jazz Sabbath vol.2," and "The 1968 Tapes," plus two tracks selected from the live album "Jazz Sabbath Live." Jazz Sabbath has brought out the "beauty" of Black Sabbath in their previous works. Jazz and metal, two genres that at first glance seem incompatible, have achieved a magnificent crossover through their exceptional musicianship, arrangements, and overflowing "Black Sabbath love."
