Product Description
In 2002, a miraculous reunion occurred. Elton Dean, Hugh Hopper, John Marshall, and Allan Holdsworth?four former Soft Machine members?reunited to record a new album, and the following year, 2003, saw the creation of "Abracadabra," a de facto reunion album that was a magnificent work filled with the essence of Soft Machine's history. And now, an album featuring a complete recording of their August 10th Tokyo concert from their Japan tour that same year is available as a UHQCD! Of the August Japan tour, the final show on August 11th in Osaka was shelved because the perfectionist Allan Holdsworth wouldn't give his permission, but after he gave his permission, it was released in 2020 as "Live In Japan 2003." This release captures the performance held in Ebisu on August 10th, the day before the final show. While previously available on Bandcamp, it is now being released as a high-quality UHQCD. Compared to the final Osaka performance, this show features a more exciting, improvisation-centered performance, capturing one of the best moments of Soft Works' 2003 tour. This is a missing piece in the history of Soft Machine, a band that continues to be active to this day! Disc 1: 1. Seven Formari 2. First Train 3. Alfrazalan 4. Baker's Treat 5. Madame Vintage 6. Has Riff 7. Facelift
