Product Description
Thom Yorke's latest work. A new challenge: his first-ever film score! This is Thom Yorke's first solo album in approximately four years since 2014's *Tomorrow's Modern Boxes*. It's the soundtrack to the highly anticipated film *Suspiria*, a remake of the classic horror film by Luca Guadagnino, known for *Call Me By Your Name*. This album features 25 tracks written specifically for the film, including not only instrumental pieces but also tracks featuring Thom Yorke's own vocals, such as "Unmade," "Has Ended," and the beautiful "Suspirium," which seems to be an extension of Radiohead's *A Moon Shaped Pool*. Creating music for a horror film presented Thom with a new challenge and opportunity, making *Suspiria* unlike any of his previous works. A chaotic yet cohesive musical incantation is born from a blend of piano/vocal ballads, Krautrock-inspired modular synth tracks inspired by the 1977 Berlin setting of a film, multi-layered vocals, and melodies conveying fear, longing, and melancholy. Thom Yorke composed and arranged the music, while recording and production were handled by Thom Yorke and Sam Petz Davies. The album also features the London Contemporary Orchestra and choir, with Thom's son Noah Yorke playing drums on "Has Ended" and "Volk," and Pasha Mansurob playing solo flute on "Suspirium." The Japanese edition is a 2-CD set in high-quality UHQCD (Ultimate High Quality CD) format, including lyrics translations and liner notes, and a super-rare limited-edition set with an original T-shirt is also available only in Japan.
