From the vibrant South London scene, ROUGH TRADE presents a major new act for 2018, following in the footsteps of Starcrawler! The DIY-inspired new girls' band, Goat Girl, makes a stunning debut!!! Goat Girl is poised to revolutionize indie music. - The Guardian: Based in South London, which is rapidly growing into one of the world's most dynamic music scenes with a constant stream of new talent emerging across various genres and styles, Goat Girl, a DIY up-and-coming girls' band that has long attracted attention for their audacious sound, has released their debut album consisting of 19 tracks! Having grown through gigs with fellow South London musicians who are also shaping the scene, they insisted on tape recording and a lo-fi sound in order to incorporate the sounds born from live performances into their work. Their music is a diverse blend of sounds ranging from experimental electronic music to Krautrock, bossa nova, jazz, and blues, and the melodies and song structures also show influences from pop music. The album was produced by Dan Carey, who has worked with Franz Ferdinand, The Kills, and Bat for Lashes. With the keen observational skills of The Kinks and the dangerous rage of The Slits, the album brilliantly portrays a world overflowing with eerie people, liars, lovers, dreamers, and wonderful madmen. The Japanese CD edition includes three bonus tracks, including rare recordings previously only available on 7-inch vinyl, while the limited import LP will be released on violet-colored vinyl.
