Formed in 1985 as Necromancy, they changed their name to Mezzrow in 1987. After releasing two demos, they made their album debut in 1990 with "Then Came the Killing." However, at the time, death metal/grindcore was at its peak, and the band, unable to receive the recognition they deserved, faded away after releasing only one album. "Then Came the Killing" is now considered one of the greatest masterpieces of cult thrash metal, not only in Sweden but throughout Scandinavia, and is highly regarded by fans. Afterwards, in 2021, the band reformed, centered around bassist Connie Wellen (formerly of HEXENHAUS) and vocalist Wolf Pettersson (formerly of ROSICRUCIAN). With Magnus S?dermann (NIGHTRAGE) and Ronnie Bj?rnstr?m (formerly of AEON) on guitar, they created new songs that followed their old sound but with a more mature and darker tone. It's still fresh in our memories that they released their first new album in 33 years, "Summon Thy Demons," in 2023. Now, Mezzrow is releasing a new album. Titled "Embrace The Awakening," this album was produced by the band themselves, with Ronnie Bj?rnstr?m handling the mixing and mastering. Based on their signature Bay Area thrash, it incorporates melodic elements, allowing listeners to fully enjoy the latest form of Mezzrow's thrash metal.
