Content Introduction Testament, a band representing the Bay Area, the mecca of thrash metal, has released their first new album in 5 years. With a career spanning over 40 years, this is a must-listen album that is more aggressive than ever! San Francisco, which became a mecca of thrash metal after producing Metallica, is home to Testament, one of the bands that represents the Bay Area. Their formation dates back to 1983. At that time, they were called Legacy, and Steve Zetro Souza was the frontman. In 1986, Steve was recruited by Exodus, so the current vocalist, Chuck Billy, joined. Also, because there was a jazz band with the same name, they changed their name to Testament. In 1987, they released their legendary first album, "The Legacy," on Megaforce. This was a time when the Bay Area scene was attracting a lot of attention due to the commercial success of Metallica's "Master of Puppets." Testament quickly became a very popular band. After that, even during the dark age of metal in the 90s, they continued to run at the forefront of the scene without getting lost or breaking up. Now, Testament's new album is being released. Titled "Para Bellum," this is their first new album in five years since "Titans of Creation" (2020). Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson's fluid guitar, Steve DiGiorgio's technical bass, and Chuck's powerful roar. This time too, it is packed with thrash metal that will exceed everyone's expectations. From the first track, blast beats burst out, and while it feels more aggression than ever, their signature melodic twin leads and ballad-like songs are of course still present. Even after more than 40 years of activity, their momentum shows no signs of slowing down! On the second day of their 2023 Japan tour, they performed a super special set limited to "The Legacy" and "The New Order" (1988). A super special Japan-only version will also be released, bundled with a CD/DVD/BD containing footage from the day's events!?EA veteran band from San Francisco, the mecca of thrash metal that gave birth to Metallica. ?EWith over 40 years of experience, they are one of the bands that represent the thrash metal genre.
