Featuring numerous special guests including popular artist Jelly Roll, contemporary Southern rock icon Marcus King, and Donnie Van Zandt, this album fully captures the powerful final performance of founding member Gary Rossington! Lynyrd Skynyrd is a veteran Southern rock band that America is proud of. They began their activities in the 1960s and gained immense popularity, mainly in the American South, in the 1970s. Hit songs such as "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Free Bird," as well as "Tuesday's Gone," which was covered by Metallica, are well known even to hard rock fans. In January 1977, the band made their first visit to Japan, but in October of the same year, they suffered a tragedy in a plane crash during the tour, losing frontman Ronnie Van Zandt, who sang those famous songs, two other members, and their road manager. It wasn't until 10 years later, in 1987, that Ronnie's brother, Johnny Van Zandt, joined the band, and they resumed activities as Lynyrd Skynyrd. They are true legendary artists who continue to influence many musicians across genres. Now, a commemorative live album marking the 50th anniversary of these legends is being released. Titled "Celebrating 50 Years: Live at the Ryman," this album captures their performance at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in November 2022. This release features numerous special guests, including Donnie Van Zandt, known for his work with 38 Special; Jelly Roll, a rising star in contemporary American music whose album released last year topped the Billboard 200; and young guitar prodigy Marcus King. It is also significant as it captures the final performance of founding member Gary Rossington, who passed away in March 2023. All 15 songs performed that night are included in their entirety. ?
