Confirmed to perform at Fuji Rock on July 26th!! American Football, a rock icon leading the post-rock/emo scene and a symbol of the "Midwest Emo" subgenre, has gained worldwide acclaim and is releasing their fourth album. From their first album released in 1999 (commonly known as LP1) to their third album released in 2019 (commonly known as LP3), they have consistently used the same album title, and this fourth album is also titled "American Football (LP4)." To commemorate the 25th anniversary of their debut album LP1, which Pitchfork called "the most influential album in the genre," they embarked on a two-year world tour starting in 2024. During that time, they released a remastered version of LP1 and their first live album, gaining enthusiastic support from a new generation of fans. A 2026 world tour is scheduled to begin on May 15th, visiting various locations around the world, and they are also confirmed to come to Japan to perform at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. The lead single from this album, "BAD MOONS," is an 8-minute complete version based on material originally written as two separate songs, expressing an overwhelming range of emotions without reservation.
