The annual Monster Hunter Music Festival, featuring a full orchestra performing music from the Monster Hunter series, was held online only on September 28th, 2021, as in 2020, due to infectious disease control measures. Focusing on monsters from the latest game, "Monster Hunter Rise," released in 2020, the festival featured vocalist Izumi Kato, guest performers on traditional Japanese instruments such as biwa, shamisen, and shakuhachi, and guitar, performing many popular songs from the Monster Hunter series with a rich sound from the full orchestra and chorus. The performance was viewed by Monster Hunter fans not only in Japan but around the world and received high praise. This live recording album contains all the songs from the performance, and the CD booklet also includes song explanations from the performance video stream.
