Their debut album, 'Ironiclast', was released in 2010. Their concept is "a rock band whose main focus is riffs that are true to their blues roots." Their sound, a blend of classic rock and modern heavy metal, is a chemistry reminiscent of Anthrax, Fall Out Boy, and Every Time I Die, and 'Ironiclast' was met with great acclaim from a wide range of music fans. Later, Josh Newton, who was the bassist for Every Time I Die at the time, joined the band, and they performed at major European festivals such as Download Festival and Hellfest. However, with such a lineup, continuous activity is not easy. Naturally, each band becomes extremely busy. Sadly, in 2012, The Damned Things decided to go on an indefinite hiatus. Things started to change around last summer when Scott Ian said, "I'm still friends with the members of The Damned Things, and we keep in regular contact. I think we might even be able to make a new record." And now, the full details of their long-awaited second album, "High Crimes," have finally been revealed. This time, Rob Caggiano is not participating, and the bassist has changed from Josh to Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio, but the other members remain the same. It's the same gorgeous lineup as always. Regarding "High Crimes," which was originally planned as an EP, Fall Out Boy's Joe Troman shows great confidence, saying, "I've been listening to these songs for two years, including the demo production, but I never get tired of them. I even think, 'How could I possibly hate these songs?'" It's heavy metal and extreme metal elements reminiscent of Anthrax and Every Time I Die, catchy pop-punk choruses that are a Fall Out Boy specialty, and a bluesy touch.
