Miras is a progressive heavy metal band from Tunisia. Their overwhelming performance at LOUD PARK 16 has made them instantly famous in Japan, but including their activities with their previous band, their career is already approaching 20 years. In 2006, the band, formerly known as X-Tazy (formed in 2001), changed its name to Myras, and a major turning point arrived. This was their encounter with Adagio, the French progressive metal band that sadly disbanded last year. Myras served as the opening act for Robert Plant and Adagio, where they hit it off with Adagio's keyboardist, Kevin Caudferre. The following year, in 2007, they enlisted Kevin as producer and released their debut album, "Hope." Their collaboration with Kevin continued, releasing their second album, "Desert Call," in 2010, and their third album, "Tales of the Sands," in 2011. Their unique style, which actively incorporated influences from Tunisian, African, and Arab folk music, left a strong impression on metal fans worldwide, establishing Myras as a force to be reckoned with in Tunisia. Following the release of "Tales of the Sands," their fame quickly spread worldwide through extensive tours with Dream Theater and Symphony X, as well as appearances at progressive metal festivals like ProgPower USA and ProgPower Europe (where they headlined!). After a five-year hiatus, their fourth album, "Legacy," was released with great anticipation. Featuring strings and the Arabic flute, the ney, it's a progressive, melodic, and exotic masterpiece that fully showcases their identity as a Tunisian band. The fact that the track "Believer," mixed by Jens Bogren, has been viewed over 5 million times on YouTube demonstrates just how much attention they've been receiving.
