Content Introduction As night falls, a fairy tale of darkness begins. Cellar Darlin's second chapter is reborn, heavier and more decadent. This new band was formed by former Elveyti members Anna Murphy (vocals), Merlin Sutter (drums), and Ivo Henzi (guitar, bass). Named Cellar Darlin to bring to light the musicality that they had been unable to express until now, hidden in the "cellar," this band revealed its full potential with 2017's "This Is the Sound." This album received high praise throughout Europe and in Japan. Two years later, Cellar Darlin returns with an even more emotional and mystical new album. The band's dramatic elements, which were evident in their previous work, have evolved even further, and this album is a concept album. This heavy metal fantasy poem, drifting between dream and reality, tells the story of a girl born into a world filled with pain, destruction, and decay, as she searches for the meaning of life and falls in love with the Grim Reaper. The album is woven with heavy, dramatic, and progressive music. From "Death," where Black Sabbath-style metal intertwines with flute; "The Spell," where Ana's shamanistic vocals resonate over dark folk metal; "Sleep," where Kate Bush-esque vocals are layered over an aesthetic world created by piano and acoustic guitar; to "Insomnia," a seven-minute journey like a hallucination wandering through the mind on a sleepless night, a melancholic and beautiful world unfolds. The frequent use of hurdy-gurdy and harmonium adds depth to the album's worldview. This album was co-produced by Tommy Vetelli, also known as the guitarist for Coroner and Kreator, and Ana. The artwork, created by Costin Sioreanu, guitarist for BLOODWAY and NIGHTSPRAY, expands the listener's imagination endlessly. Titled "The Spell," meaning "spell" or "magic," this album gives us a dark bliss as we wander through it.
