Introduction: Burning Witches, a Swiss all-female five-piece metal band backed by Destruction's Schmier, releases their second album! This powerful work is packed with melodic power metal tunes that are as strong as men's, showcasing their powerful vocals! Burning Witches was formed in 2015, centered around Romana (guitar), a former member of the Swiss heavy metal band ATLAS & AXIS. The members are Jay (bass), a friend of Romana's; Celeina (vocals), formerly of RIZON and a fan of ATLAS & AXIS; Aria (guitar), an acquaintance of Romana's from her time at music college; and Lara (drums), whom they found through the internet. In 2016, Romana produced a demo with the help of Schmier of Destruction, whom she had known for some time. The following year, in 2017, they made their debut with the album "Burning Witches," co-produced by Schmier and V.O. Pulver (Destruction, Pro Pain, etc.). The album's musical style gives the impression of power metal with an old-school heavy metal taste, incorporating influences from Judas Priest and orthodox European metal bands of the 80s, while also incorporating modern intensity. After the album's release, the band performed live not only in Switzerland but also in Germany and Austria, and then signed with Germany's "Nuclear Blast." This time, they have completed their second album, "Hexenhammer." With Aria having left the band, they brought in Sonia, who previously played bass in death metal bands ECOCIDE and SHADE OF HATRED, as their new guitarist. This album features a collection of heroic tracks, including fast-paced power metal tunes, songs with a thrash metal-like approach, and heavy mid-tempo tunes, and also includes a cover of Dio's "Holy Diver." With Celeina's powerful vocals reminiscent of Nora Louhimo of Battle Beast and song structures utilizing twin guitars, every track is brimming with the essence of heavy metal, making this a work that demonstrates the band's rapid growth.
