Or rather, they are like the death metal genre itself. While they are strongly associated with the Florida scene, they originally hail from Buffalo, New York. Formed in 1988 by Alex Webster (bass) and Chris Burns (vocals), they released a self-titled demo the following year, 1989, and immediately achieved rapid success by signing with the prestigious Metal Blade Records. Then, in 1990, their debut album, "Eaten Back to Life," was released, and Cannibal Corpse was instantly revered by fans worldwide as a rising star in the death metal world. They continued to be active and successful, releasing a total of 13 studio albums up to "A Skeletal Domain" in 2014.
