Contents: A fantastical pop world created by Stewart Copeland (The Police), Adrian Belew (King Crimson, David Bowie), Mark King (Level 42), and Vittorio Cosma (PFM)! These extraordinary musicians, who defy categorization, have gathered in Italy to form the unparalleled supergroup "Gizmodrome"! The history of Gizmodrome began in the early 2000s when Stewart, the former drummer of The Police, met Italian jazz/progressive keyboardist Vittorio Cosma. Hitting it off, they began working together on a project, releasing the CD/DVD "La Notte Della Taranta" (2004), a recording of their 2003 live performance. After more than 10 years of live performances and songwriting, the two decided to finally launch as a full-fledged band. The new members chosen were Adrian Belew, who has delivered unparalleled guitar work through Frank Zappa, David Bowie, King Crimson, and his solo career, and Mark King, who showcases incredible slapping bass in Level 42. Based on songs that Stewart and Vittorio had been writing for over 10 years, all 12 tracks were evolved by the entire band. There are eccentric pop/rock tracks reminiscent of "Miss Gradenko," which Stewart contributed to The Police's masterpiece "Synchronicity" (1983), and Adrian's freaky and thrilling guitar playing is in full force. Mark deliberately refrains from slapping, instead making his presence felt with a more solid bass playing. Stewart describes this musical style as "punk progressive." "Intricate drum fills, insane guitar... it's a sound that sets the town on fire." Initially starting as a studio project, Gizmodrome's golden chemistry as a group led to a decision to quickly expand into long-term activities, including live performances. They are planning a large-scale world tour in 2018, and in addition to songs from this album, they also intend to perform numbers from their past bands. Men who have carved the history of 20th-century rock are forging a new legend in the 21st century. Keep your eyes on Gizmodrome.
