Contents Introduction The third album, "Bad Blood Rising," from the young Finnish rock band Santa Cruz is set for release! Their captivating looks and catchy, melodic sound influenced by M?tley Cr?e and Guns N' Roses have garnered worldwide attention! The third album, "Bad Blood Rising," from the young rock and rollers from Helsinki, Finland, is complete. "Our previous album, 'Santa Cruz,' was more metal-oriented, but this new one is more rock. We're not a heavy metal band anymore," said frontman Archie Cruz about the new album's most diverse sound to date. 2017, the year of their first new album in two years, marks the 10th anniversary of Santa Cruz's formation. In 2007, Archie, then 15 years old, met guitarist Johnny and began performing under the band name they had long decided upon. The following year, bassist Midi joined, and two years later, they met drummer Taz, solidifying the current lineup. Influenced by Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, M?tley Cr?e, Guns N' Roses, Skid Row, and others, they crafted exhilarating rock and roll using their teenage energy and long hair as their weapons, first gaining popularity in Finland. In 2013, they released their debut album, "Screaming for Adrenaline." They toured extensively in their home country and the UK, and also visited Germany and Belgium as the opening act for Skid Row. Their second album, "Santa Cruz," released in 2015, debuted at number 3 on the UK charts. That same year, they embarked on a European tour, and in 2016, they accompanied Sebastian Bach on his North American tour, and in November, they made their first appearance in Japan. Currently, they are attracting global attention, with Rolling Stone magazine selecting them as one of "10 New Artists You Should Know." The production of "Bad Blood Rising" began in the summer two years ago and continued for about a year and a half. "Honestly, it took quite a long time, so this production was pretty tough. But it was a difficult birth, but it was worth it," says Archie. Having evolved significantly over the past decade, their aim was to achieve a broader and more diverse sound. As a result, they have shed their 80s-style party metal band image and grown into a much bigger rock band. The first single, "River Phoenix," is a heavy and dynamic rock anthem, but the album also includes the completely contrasting pop-sounding "River Phoenix Part 2," and just looking at these two songs, you can see that they are a band that can create a wide variety of sounds. The adrenaline-pumping, hard-hitting tracks are more powerful than ever, and the poppy ballads like "Breeze" and "Drag Me Out of the Darkness," which Archie describes as "a mix of Guns N' Roses, U2, and Pearl Jam," are also excellent. Many of the lyrics, born from a deeply depressed experience after a long, party-filled tour following their previous album, make the incredibly catchy and melodic songs even more appealing. In 2017, with "Bad Blood Rising," this quartet, embodying a nostalgic yet fresh take on rock and roll, is poised to conquer the world.
