Content Introduction A "third Bible" exists, following the Old and New Testaments! Septicflesh's latest album, "Codex Omega," is a revelation of the apocalypse from the Greek symphonic death metal giant! A celebration of destruction woven from brutal death metal and heavy orchestration! Since forming in Athens in 1990, Septicflesh has carved a wedge of heresy in the extreme metal world and is revered in Japan, where they have even performed. This 10th full-length album depicts "what lies beyond" the Book of Revelation, the last book of the New Testament, with a gruesome yet majestic brutal sound. From Dante Algieri's Inferno to Charles Baudelaire, the mathematician Hypatia, H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, Rod Serling (creator of "The Twilight Zone"), and the three Hindu gods, Sotiris Anunna V's (clean vocals/guitar) lyrics take us on a breathtaking journey. In response to this grand worldview, the album's sound overwhelms the listener with immense power. Seth Silo Anton's (vocals/bass) death growl and Sotiris V's clean vocals intertwine like a two-headed snake, adding excitement to the heavy and dynamic band performance. The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, featured on every album since "Communion" (2008), also participates fully, now occupying an indispensable and crucial place in the band's musicality. Furthermore, this album incorporates instruments from the Middle East and West Asia, such as the oud and duduk, creating an even broader musical world. The unique musicality, built by incorporating extreme metal, orchestral music, and folk music, is brought together by Jens Bogren. With the help of a leading metal producer who has worked with Opeth, DragonForce, Kreator, and Sepultura, this album represents a culmination of the musicality Septicflesh has cultivated over a quarter of a century. God said, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end." Codex Omega presents what lies beyond that "end." The end of one myth is the beginning of a new story.
