Following their 2009 album 'EVOCATION I ~ THE ARCANE DOMINION', this is their second acoustic album, 'Evocation II ~ Gods of Gallia ~'! A new chapter for ELUVEITIE is finally beginning...! Last year, ELUVEITIE underwent a major change in members, which worried their fans, but as long as their main composer and conceptor, Krigel Glanzmann (vocals), is still with them, their foundation will never waver. This band originally formed in 2002 as a solo project by Krigel, and after making their debut with the EP "VEN" in 2003, they have continued to release albums such as "SPIRIT" (2006), "SLANIA" (2008), "EVOCATION I" (2009), "EVERYTHING REMAINS AS IT NEVER WAS" (2010), "HELVETIOS" (2012), and "ORIGINS" (2014), but in reality, they have gone through numerous member changes along the way. Their unique sound is born from an exquisite fusion of traditional Celtic music and extreme metal. It possesses both aggressive and dynamic aspects, as well as lyrical and pastoral aspects, inducing intense mosh pits while simultaneously stirring a sense of nostalgia in the listener. At its core lies the lost history and culture of ancient Gaul. ELUVEITIE refers to the Gaulish tribes that once inhabited what is now Switzerland and southern Germany. Their work is always imbued with a strong sympathy for the Celtic people who were eventually conquered by Rome and assimilated. This time, the theme of "Ivocation II ~Gods of Gaul~" is the gods of Gaul and Celts. When we think of the Pantheon, we imagine a temple dedicated to the gods of ancient Greece and Rome, but originally it simply meant "all the gods." In fact, the titles of each song use the names of the Gaulish gods or words related to them, and a mystical, indigenous, and at times magnificent folk/traditional sound unfolds, making full use of various ancient instruments. After the release of "ORIGINS," Pede Kistrel (pipes, whistles) left in 2014, followed by Ivo Henzi (guitar), Merlin Sutter (drums), and Ana Murphy (hurdy gurdy, vocals) in 2016. They were replaced by Matteo Sisti (pipes, whistles), Jonas Wolf (guitar), Alan Ackermann (drums), Fabienne Erni (vocals, harp), and Michalina Mali? (hurdy gurdy). As a result, the current lineup is a large ensemble of nine members, including Krigel (vocals, mandola, whistles, pipes, bodhran), Raphael Salzman (guitar), Kai Brem (bass), Nicole Ansperger (fiddle, cello), and Matteo, Jonas, Alan, Fabienne, and Michalina.
