Introduction A new chapter for EMURA begins now! This deathcore + rap metal band, based in Queens, New York City, finally makes their Japanese debut with their latest album, "Look at Yourself"! EMURA was already a well-known presence in Japan, having made their first visit in May 2013 and touring in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. Currently in America, the scene that crosses over metalcore/deathcore with nu-metal is steadily growing. EMURA boasts momentum that rivals that of ATTILA, a pioneer of this scene. They inherit all the genes of metalcore and deathcore, which represent modern heaviness, the chaotic world of Slipknot, the deep anguish of KoRn, and the anger and hip-hop beats emanating from Limp Bizkit. Furthermore, they have performed at world-renowned metal festivals such as "Vans Warped Tour," "Rockstar Mayhem," and "Ozzfest meets Knotfest." Furthermore, they have toured with formidable bands such as FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, AUGUST BURNS RED, and PARKWAY DRIVE. As a result of steadily and diligently building their fan base, their previous album came close to reaching the US Top 50 on the charts, and they have grown into one of the most anticipated metalcore/deathcore bands today. Speaking of Emure, after the release of their previous album "Eternal Enemies" (April 2014), their planned Japan tour in September 2015 was canceled at the last minute due to vocalist Frankie's throat problems, and then all four members other than Frankie left the band, creating a truly extraordinary situation. In addition to Frankie, the current Emure lineup includes talented new members Joshua Travis (guitar) and Josh Miller (drums), both formerly of Glass Cloud, and Phil Rocket (bass), who also played in THE TONY DANZA TAPDANCE EXTRAVAGANZA. They resumed live activities in earnest in the spring of 2016. In October 2016, they accompanied ATTILA on their "THE CHAOS TOUR" alongside a powerful lineup including Chelsea Grin and Sylar. Around the same time, they released "Torch" and "Russian Hotel Aftermath," both included on this album, online as a preview. These two tracks, with their higher-energy songs than ever before, feature Frankie's diverse techniques and passionate vocals intertwining to form a massive sonic wall that attacks with full force. They have more than enough power to shift fans' anxieties into anticipation! Despite the changes in members, the new Emure's new album remains completely true to its core. The unsettling atmosphere, palpable tension, and immense energy that permeate the entire work powerfully convey Frankie's determination: "Even without the departing members, I can still create something this good!" The overly simple artwork, along with the grotesque photographs and cryptic messages displayed in the screenshots, showcase a world view unlike anything EMUIA has done before. "Look at Yourself," a no-compromise album completed at the expense of a planned UK and European tour starting in January 2017, is a fitting debut for the band in Japan. Incidentally, with this album, the band has left Victory Records and signed with the new label Sharptone Records. Sharptone Records was co-founded by Markus Staiger, CEO of Nuclear Blast, Europe's largest metal label, and Shawn Keith, former vice president of Sumerian Records in the US, home to bands like Periphery and Asking Alexandria. As of last year, WE CAME AS ROMANS, ATTILA, MISS MAY I, LOATHE, DON BROCO, and WORLD WAR ME had signed contracts with the label, and ATTILA is also known for releasing "CHAOS" in November 2016.
