In 1983, Marillion caused a neo-progressive (=pomp rock) sensation with "Script For A Jester's Tear," and "Caylee" reached number 2 on the UK charts. Since current singer Steve Hogarth joined in 1989, Marillion has produced masterpieces such as "Brave" (1994), and their latest album, "Fear" (2016), continues to enjoy immense popularity not only in their native UK but also in Japan. In recent years, with the remarkable rise of progressive rock in the 21st century, including bands like Porcupine Tree, Anathema, and Pineapple Thief, Marillion's presence as a leading force in the movement stands as a towering landmark. "Marillion Weekend 2013" was held in the Netherlands, Canada, and the UK in 2013, with each of the three days featuring live performances based on a different theme. This release captures the third day of the performances held in Portzelande, Netherlands from March 8th to 10th, a complete performance of their then-latest album, 2012's "Sounds That Can't Be Made." Fans from 44 countries around the world gathered for this live performance, creating an incredibly exciting stage. The show began with "Gaza," a song told from the perspective of a boy growing up in the Gaza Strip, and the message of anti-war sentiment maintained a tense atmosphere for nearly 20 minutes. This tension permeated the entire album, and the dignified sound, even amidst the lyrical melodies, became even stronger through the exchange of energy with the audience. The serious atmosphere finally eased during the encore. The early classic "Garden Party" was performed, and the surprise appearance of Steve Hogarth, who sang during his time with Phish, instantly transformed the venue into a grand party, just as the title suggests.
