Following their debut album "The Key," this is the second in a trilogy, featuring a star-studded lineup of guest appearances including David Ellefson of Megadeth and Tim "Ripper" Owens, formerly of Judas Priest! Jeff's emotionally charged vocals explode in this progressive metal album! Queensr?che, who released the masterpiece "Operation Mindcrime" in 1988, established the progressive heavy metal genre. Having debuted in 1983 with the EP "Queensr?che" and released hit albums such as "Empire" (1990) and "Promised Land" (1994), Geoff Tate, who exuded an overwhelming presence with his expressive high-pitched voice on these works, left the band and launched a new project called Operation: Mindcrime, which takes its name from one of their classic albums. Released in 2015, Operation: Mindcrime's debut album, "The Key," was a concept album that included songs with an atmosphere reminiscent of "Operation Mindcrime," as well as modern, alternative rock-style tracks similar to those featured on Jeff's solo album "Kings & Thieves" (2012) and "Frequency Unknown" (2013), released under the name Quiezlike. This sequel, "Resurrection," the second in a trilogy, is an even more melodic and progressive work with a stronger sense of narrative than its predecessor. The recording members, continuing from the previous album, include David Ellefson (bass) of Megadeth, John Moyer (bass) of Disturbed, Brian Tichy (drums) of The Dead Daisies, Kelly Gray (guitar) and Randy Gaine (keyboards) who participated in Queensr?che's "Frequency Unknown," Simon Wright (drums) formerly of AC/DC, and Scott Morton (guitar) who participated in Jeff Tate's solo album "Jeff Tate" (2002). In addition, former Judas Priest member Tim "Ripper" Owens (vocals) and former Iron Maiden member Blaze Bayley (vocals) have joined the band.
