A true gathering of stars from the extreme metal world. Although I said the extreme metal world, the central figure of Synsaenum is none other than DragonForce bassist Fr?d?ric Leclerc. Fr?d?ric started this band and wrote all the songs. It might surprise some, but he not only declares, "I hardly ever listen to power metal in my private life. My favorite is Morbid Angel!", but he's such an extreme metal fanatic that he even has a tattoo of Morbid Angel's album cover. And the members he's assembled around him are also incredible. First, on drums is Joey Jordison. I don't think he needs any introduction, but he's the Joey from former Slipknot and current Vimic. And for vocals, Frederik has chosen Attila Sihar and Sean Z. Attila has been in Mayhem and SUNN O))) and has also come to Japan many times for solo performances, so he's probably familiar to extreme metal fans. He's a vocal magician who can handle everything from black metal vocals to throat singing. Sean is the vocalist for D??th and Chimaira. Furthermore, from France, Haimott of the black metal band Seth joins on bass, and St?phane Burrier of the veteran death/thrash metal band Loudblast participates on guitar. You can see that this is a selection of musicians that will impress even the most hardcore extreme metal fans. Their debut album, "Echoes of the Tortured," has finally been unveiled. As Frederik describes it, their style is evil death metal reminiscent of Morbid Angel in their prime, with "no gimmicks whatsoever." But of course, they are not just a nostalgic imitation band. Among the artists who influenced them are Goblin, famous for their Italian horror soundtracks, and even the contemporary composer Bart?k. And amidst the evil atmosphere, the numerous melodic guitar solos that catch the ear with their superb contrast are surely not unrelated to Frederik's work with DragonForce. This is something that fans of Slipknot and Mayhem, as well as DragonForce fans, will enjoy. Mixing and mastering were handled by the familiar Jens Bogren, who, as always, delivers a powerful and clear sound quality. "Japan is like a second home to me.
