The first limited edition includes a bonus CD with orchestral versions of the album tracks! [Includes lyrics translation/Japanese liner notes] Formed in Perugia, Italy in 2007, Fleshgod Apocalypse has rapidly established support in the European metal scene with their extreme metal sound, majestic orchestration, and dramatic song development. Having signed with Nuclear Blast, Europe's largest metal label, they have garnered a passionate following for their sound that encompasses a wide range of subgenres, from death metal to melodic speed metal and neo-classical metal. Highly regarded as a live band, they have performed at festivals such as Germany's Wacken Open Air and the UK's Bloodstock. In April-May 2014, they made their first visit to Japan as the opening act for The Black Dahlia Murder, and quickly returned in June 2015 as a headliner, firmly establishing themselves in the Japanese music scene. Their latest album, their fourth, "King," is an even more brutal and dramatic masterpiece. Cristiano Trionfera's guitar work, ranging from extreme riffs to neo-classical leads, and the dynamic interplay of death growls by Tommaso Riccardi and clean tones by Paolo Rossi, are enhanced by Francesco Fellini's piano and orchestration, leading to a sublime roaring climax. Furthermore, Veronica Bordaccini's operatic female vocals, which have contributed as a semi-member, are featured even more boldly, elevating "The Fool" and "Siphilis" to a new dimension. Her performance of "Paramour (Passion Brings Suffering)," a song set to Goethe's poem "Reconciliation" and sung with only piano accompaniment, also adds a new depth to the album. The album was mixed by Jens Bogren, who has worked with Arch Enemy, At the Gates, and Amon Amarth. The album brilliantly captures the clash between loud metal sounds and majestic orchestration. The weighty artwork, inspired by a portrait of a king and created by Eliran Kantor, known for his work with Testament, Soulfly, Hatbreed, and SIGH, also contributes to making "King" a "noble metal album." The limited edition includes orchestral versions of all the album's tracks as a bonus disc (excluding "Paramour (Passion Brings Suffering)," which originally has no guitar, and the piano solo piece "King"). It presents another side of "King" as a symphony.
