[Includes bonus tracks exclusive to the Japanese edition / Japanese liner notes included] Smash Into Pieces, a five-piece band from Sweden, performed as the opening act at "LOUD & METAL MANIA" held in Tokyo in November 2013, and received a huge ovation in Japan even though they had not yet released an album. The following year, in 2014, they released their 1st album "Unbreakable" in Japan, and their songs, which fused heavy modern heavy guitar sounds with lyrical vocal melodies, received high praise. Now, they have completed their long-awaited 2nd album, "The Apocalypse DJ". This album further enhances the vocal melodies compared to their previous work, and each song, which also pursues an alluring quality, is full of heartfelt vocals. With guest appearances from fellow Swedish band Amaranthe, this is a noteworthy release. Smash Into Pieces was formed in 2008 in south-central Sweden, centered around Benjamin Jenneboe (guitar). After uploading a demo of "Fading" to MySpace in 2008, they signed with local indie label "Ninetone Records" and released a 5-track EP of the same name. However, contractual troubles led to their relationship with the label ending after this one release. Subsequently, in 2010, they released a self-produced promotional EP, "SMASH INTO PIECES," and after actively performing live, they signed with "Gain/Sony Music" and made their official debut in 2013 with the album "Unbreakable." After performing at "LOUD & METAL MANIA," this album was released in Japan the following year, 2014. With this album in hand, they performed live not only in Sweden but also in Finland, the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and Spain, among other European countries, and their popularity skyrocketed. Riding on that momentum, they released their second album, "The Apocalypse DJ." The current Smash Into Peases consists of five members: Chris Adam Hedman Serbier (vocals), Per Berliquist (guitar, vocals), Benjamin Jenneboe (guitar), Viktor Vidlund (bass), and Isaac Snow (drums). This album, which features Chris's deep vocals and exudes a post-grunge mood, shows influences from Creed, Alter Bridge, Nickelback, and others, and the vocal melodies are full of a uniquely Nordic lyricism. The album features heavy, modern heavy rock-style guitar riffs and electronic sounds that give the songs a dynamic feel, and the band's performance, which complements the vocals, is thoroughly enjoyable. With tracks like "My Cocaine," featuring Elise Reed of Amaranthe (who toured with the band on their previous album), this album showcases the band's evolution and offers a high-quality listening experience.
