Thunder debuted in 1990 with "Backstreet Symphony." Since their emergence as a force to be reckoned with in the British hard rock scene, which was somewhat overshadowed by LA metal, 2015 marks their 25th anniversary. Having produced numerous classics such as "Dirty Love" and "River of Pain," Thunder has lived through a turbulent era in the music scene, and after several hiatuses, they have made a comeback and completed "Wonder Days." This momentous 25th-anniversary album is filled with the essence of the British Empire. This album is infused with the vintage flavor of British hard rock. From the Led Zeppelin-esque groove of "Wonder Days" to the driving and catchy chorus of "The Thing I Want," the acoustic number "The Rain," the old-style rock and roll of "I Love the Weekend," the tear-jerking ballad "Broken," and the uniquely sharp and uptempo number "The Profit," the band returns to their roots while also showing a determination to soar into a new era. Danny Bowes' vocals are as powerful and vibrant as ever, radiating a captivating allure while also showcasing the expressive power of a seasoned veteran. Luke Morley's guitar playing is also in top form, delivering a soulful performance that makes up for Ben Matthews' unfortunate inability to participate in the recording due to illness. The British swing feel created by Gary "Harry" James and Chris Childs is something that younger bands simply cannot replicate. From March 2015, Thunder will be touring their home country of the UK, with their London performance taking place at the legendary Hammersmith Apollo, a venue that has produced countless dramatic moments in British rock history.
