Metal Calling Returns! Leatherwolf, the pioneers of triple-guitar power metal and a leading force in US power metal, releases their first new album in 8 years! During the heyday of LA metal, Leatherwolf rose to prominence with their melodic power metal sound infused with European flavor, gaining a large fanbase. Now, after 8 years, they release their first mini-album in 1984, showcasing their triple-guitar sound. The following year, 1985, they released a full-length album in the UK titled "Endangered Species" (also released in Japan by CBC Sony under the title "Leatherwolf"), which was well-received. They signed with major label Island Records, and in 1987 released their second album, "Leatherwolf" (titled "Metal Calling" in Japan). Their promotional video "The Calling" was frequently aired on MTV, leading to a worldwide breakthrough and immense popularity in Japan. In 1989, they released their third album, "Street Ready," and a successful European tour seemed to solidify their position in the music scene. However, the subsequent grunge boom swept the world, causing them to lose record label support. This led to changes in the band's members and internal conflicts. They continued performing under the name HAIL MARY, but without releasing an album, they ceased activities. However, driven by the voices of fans hoping for their return, original members Dean and Jeff reformed with new members, releasing the live album "Wide Open" in 1999 and making a comeback to the scene. In 2006, they released their fourth album, "World Asylum," and in 2022, their first new album in eight years, "Kill The Hunted," was released! Even with changes in members, the LEATHERWOLF sound, which has been passed down through generations, remains unchanged. In this latest work, their classic, damp power metal sound is still very much alive. Incidentally, this album features Barry Sparks, a highly skilled bassist who has played with MSG and Yngwie Malmsteen, and together with Keith Adamiak (vocals), who joined in 2019, they bring a fresh energy to the band, resulting in a masterpiece that exceeds fans' expectations!
