Product Description Ray Alder (vocals) of current FATES WARNING and former member Mark Zonder (drums) have formed a supergroup and released their long-awaited debut album! The legendary band FATES WARNING, which showed its continued vitality with the release of its 13th album, "Longday Goodnight" (RBNCD-1320), on Rubicon in 2020, has formed a new band with vocalist Ray Alder, who has been with the band since the 1988 album "No Exit" and is now the face of the band, and Mark Zonder, the original drummer of the legendary American epic metal band "Warlords," who contributed to six progressive works over 16 years from 1989's "Perfect Symmetry" to 2005's "FWX"! The band name A-Z has a double meaning, representing the A of Alder and the Z of Zonder, and the breadth of the band's musicality. Mark has publicly stated, "This isn't a one-off project that will end after releasing one album; it's a permanent band that will release many more albums in the future." The other members are also strong: the bassist is Philippe Bynaud, a technician who played with later Warlord and Steve Vai for a long time; the guitarist is Dutchman Joop Walters, who has released numerous solo works on Loin Music and also plays in a local Rush tribute band; and the keyboardist is Frenchman Vivian Lalu, who also plays with guitarist Joop in his own band, Lalu. Their music is melody-driven, and with two of the members from Europe, there are plenty of excellent songs that evoke a European feel. This is a must-listen not only for fans of Fats Warning and Warlord, but also for fans of Rush, Dream Theater, DGM, Circus Maximus, and even metal fans leaning towards melodic hard rock. The album's mixing and mastering were handled by Simone Muraloni (DGM), a highly skilled professional who has worked on numerous projects! And the distinctive album cover was created by the brilliant Hugh Syme, who has worked on many projects for bands such as Rush, Fates Warning, and Dream Theater!
