Product Description
The legendary NWOBHM band, WHITE SPIRIT, releases their genuine second album after 40 years! In 1980, they released the album "White Spirit" on MCA, but Yannick Gers (guitar), who would later join IRON MAIDEN, was recruited by Ian Gillan and left the band. He was replaced by Mick Tucker (guitar), currently of TANK. The bassist also changed, and Brian Howe (vocals), who was unknown at the time, joined as vocalist. Colin Towns, Gillan's keyboardist, was in charge of production, and although they made two songs, the album was interrupted because they couldn't secure a major record deal. The band subsequently broke up, and Brian went to America to work with TED NUGENT, BAD COMPANY, and as a solo artist. Bassist Toby Sadler joined AIRRACE, and the band's central figure and keyboardist, Mal (Colm) Pearson, retired for a time before joining THE SWEET (1988). Mick Tucker has been a permanent member of Tank since their 1983 third album, and they made their second visit to Japan in 2019. When Brian died suddenly on May 6, 2020, from a chronic illness, Mal and Mick got back in touch, and soon after, Mal discovered the recording tapes. They decided to release them, filling in the unfinished parts, re-recording the rhythm section with Neil Murray (drums / Whitesnake, etc.) and Russell Gilbrook (drums / Uriah Heep), and adding Brian's original lead vocals along with three new super singers (Jeff Scott Soto, Lee Small, and Steve Overland)! Mick and Mal faithfully re-recorded the guitar and keyboard parts to complete the album. Furthermore, Pontus Norgren (Hammerfall), who handled the album's mixing and mastering, and Mick's close friend Cliff Evans (Tank) also participated. This album is the true second album from WHITE SPIRIT, and of course, it's a must-listen dedicated to Brian, who sings on most of the album. Includes Japanese bonus tracks!
