The Revenants I 7. Apocalypse Canadian progressive hard rock duo finally makes their Japanese debut! Crown Lands is a Canadian progressive hard rock duo consisting of Cody Bowles and Kevin Camo. Their soaring high-pitched vocals and the heavy, highly technical progressive sound they create with just the two of them have become a hot topic, and their 1st album, "Crown Lands," was nominated for "Best Rock Album" at the 2021 Juno Awards, often called the Canadian Grammy Awards, and won the "Best New Group" award. At the end of that year, James LaBrie (vocals) of Dream Theater named them the "Best New Band," praising them by saying, "This band is just two people. Kevin Commo plays guitar, bass, and keyboards, and Cody Bowles plays drums and sings?and his singing is truly amazing. It's incredible. This album, their third with vocals, is a collaboration with two producers, Nick Raskrinetz and David Bottrill, who have also worked with the legendary American rock trio Rush, whom they respect, and is constructed as a narrative experience designed for the analog LP format. The highlight is the 19-minute title track that closes the album (this is the only track on the B-side of the analog version), a suite consisting of 13 movements called "Apocalypse." Musically and narratively, this track symbolizes the entire album, exploding with a grand and thrilling performance woven from stillness and movement.
