Joe Hisaishi, a composer that Japan is proud of, takes on the challenge of composing music for a Hollywood film for the first time in "Beautiful Journey" (opening nationwide on December 19th). Starring in the film is Margot Robbie, one of Hollywood's leading actresses, who has appeared in numerous hit films such as the "Suicide Squad" series and "The Wolf of Wall Street," and was nominated for an Academy Award for "Bombshell." This film is also attracting attention as her first film appearance in about two years since "Barbie," which caused a global social phenomenon. Colin Farrell, who won the Venice International Film Festival's Best Actor Award for "Inishelin Island" and the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor for "After Ya," also stars in the film. Directing these two top Hollywood stars is Korean-American director Kogonada. Joe Hisaishi, a rising filmmaker who gained critical acclaim for his work on A24's "After Yang," is also known as a passionate fan of Studio Ghibli. Driven by this passion, he directly offered the job to Joe Hisaishi, world-renowned for his Ghibli music, to compose the film's score. This marks Hisaishi's first time composing music for a Hollywood film, and the soundtrack is attracting considerable attention.
