This album, "The Rising," was released in 2002 and reached number 1 in the US. It is the first original new album in 18 years since "Born in the U.S.A." in 1984 with his close friends, the E Street Band. While it directly addresses songs related to 9/11, it is not meant to inspire patriotism. It conveys the sense of loss, sadness, and despair of those who have lost loved ones, as well as compassion, solace, prayer, encouragement, and hope for those who have been hurt. This is the first reissue in 18 years. The paper sleeve reproduces the original US first-pressing LP artwork, and the obi is a newly created design (wrap-around obi) with the same design as the one used for the 1984 reissue of "BORN IN THE U.S.A." 2005 master.
