Dream Theater, who continue to reign supreme in progressive metal, releases rare recordings such as live performances, demos, and studio outtakes as official bootlegs in their "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series. The ninth release features "ACT 1," the first half of their September 11, 2017 Nippon Budokan performance, from the "Images, Words & Beyond - 25th Anniversary Tour," a world tour held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their breakthrough 1992 masterpiece second album, "Images and Words," which was completely recreated from the album. The "ACT 2" part, a complete recreation of "Images and Words," was released in the first release of this series, and these two titles together provide a complete coverage of the live performance. Footage of this performance was broadcast on WOWOW in November of the same year and then streamed for a limited time in January 2021, but this is the first time it has been commercially released.
