In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, band frontmen Steve Lukather (guitar/vocals) and Joseph Williams (vocals) confronted their own careers and the band's future, searching for a way to move forward. They chose to "continue to move music and love forward using the name TOTO (by Steve Lukather)." As a starting point, on November 21 of last year, they held a one-night-only online concert for the world with a new lineup featuring the two as core members.
