Born in New Jersey in 1945 (some sources say 1943). Debuted in 1962 as a member of the female vocal group Blue Bells (later known as LaBelle), formed with Patti LaBelle. Their 1974 hit "Lady Marmalade" reached number one on both the US and UK charts. After the group disbanded, she made her solo debut with Kirshner, a CBS label. This album, her third, is poppy and full of R&B flavor, with a deeply appealing 80s urban sound. This album is a cover of the famous ballad "Somebody's Angel," penned by David Lasley. It features the horn section of Seawind, including Steve Lukather (guitar) and Jerry Hey (trumpet).
